The Kobra 240 SC meets the requirements of NSA/CSS Policy Manual 9-12 for the destruction of Smart Cards, Credit Cards, and Smart ID cards. The Kobra 240 SC Straight-cut multipurpose shredder is equipped with a heavy-duty chain drive system with metal gears. Carbon hardened cutting knives unaffected by staples and clips. 24 hour continuous duty operations without overheatings or duty cycles. Energy Smart System with optical illuminated indicators for power saving stand-by mode and environmental protection. Equipped with a removable waste bin for easy empty operations: does not require lifting of the cutting head. 

The Kobra 240 SC meets the requirements of NSA/CSS Policy Manual 9-12 for destruction of Smart Cards, Credit Cards and Smart ID cards. The National Security Agency/Central Security Service of the United States mandates that destruction of all variations of Security Sensetive Smart Cards is performed based on requirements of NSA/CSS Policy Manual 9-12 for proper data sanitization. 

The Kobra 240 SC destroys the Magnetic Stripe and the IC (Integrated Chip) on the ID, Smart Card and Credit Card and meets requirements of NSA/CSS Policy Manual 9-12. Destruction of Smart Cards/Smart ID Cards by a shredder that is cross cut is not allowed by and does not meet the requirements of NSA/CSS Policy Manual 9-12.
